Thanks to Daniel’s hard work this weekend, the painting is finished. : ) The room is amazing, bright and airy now. It’s gorgeous. It’s hard capturing the true color though with my little camera – it has to be looked at in person. : ) The color seems to change if the lights are on or off, and depending on the time of the day. Next stop is finishing the bed and getting curtains.

Today my amazing husband went to the land of Lowe’s with me and we got primer and a Valspar paint for the guest room. We got a silvery-purple-tinged-gray called Voyage. I cannot wait to see how it looks. Overall I was so happy today and just giddy. I really like painting walls! : ) Especially to get rid of the previous color that we affectionately have referred to as baby vomit.

And completely random.. we got two new pans today so we can put away the old ones (one is warped.. probably from dishwasher, my fault). These are nice ones.. now maybe I’ll cook better. ; )

Speaking of home decor, I was in Marshall’s the other day scoping for a few things. When I found this teal and gold bowl, there was no question I had a place for it. Somewhere. I did find a place!

Ornate geometric patterns have been very popular in the past year in graphic design, and the trend has moved on into home decor. This pillow had to go home with me. The colors are a blue-purple-gray (almost silver) with a gold-yellow color. I managed to find two standard pillowcases in a blue-gray color to match. Now I just need two king sized white pillows for against the wall. The rest of the plan includes getting a gold colored throw for the end of the bed, and a bedskirt. And I think we’ll stick with painting the walls in a purple-grayish color which blends in and will make the colors on the bed pop.
